I wanted your input on how 416r would hold up vs something like 4150 cmv steel barrel. I have always heard that stainless shoots better but would not hold up as good under repeated rapid fire (not talking about full auto) and was easier ruined than a steel barrel. I just wanted to ask someone who I know, knows what they are talking about and gave give me the true answer. I used to buy chromo lined barrels for my burner guns but you really don't see them as much now days.

Continued rapid fire is not a freind to any barrel steel. The Stainless guns wil shot fine for a long long time very accuartely as will the standard stuff. The SS will tend to shot better longer and then loose accuracy at some unknown tipping point quickly. The regular CM types tend to degrade more gradually.
The bug bug in the ointment here is among other things in the BHW wheel house is throat design and the three groove poly barrel. These both work togeher given the lowered preesure they operate under. Heat+ pressure = barrel killer.
I own exactly two chrome moly barrels on AR's. Every other one I own of over two dozen is stainless. Most ar BHW tubes. I have yet to wear out a barrel where I felt the accuracy had degraded enough to worry about. Personally I would go SS everytime and not even blink. BTW I own zero chrome lined barrels for a reason.
