i forgot to mention i think it will be a shooter as well. these were shot at 200 yards even though i have had problem with my rifle i believe the barrel is a real shooter. this was there first load i tried and with a little tweaking hopefully ill pull those a little tighter together. i did load one at a time into the chamber. I have the SCS in my Sig 716 and for a while had the same ftf that you are describing. I tried each # of spring and JP even sent me a heavier weight. The problem was with the gas system not getting enough gas. I sent the Sig back for service and they enlarged the gas port. Now I have the heaviest spring and weight and it functions fine. No FTF's in several hundred rounds.
As for converting .308's- I did that for my 6.5 creedmoor. I'll get my notes tomorrow but I think I had to take off .002 of the neck to have .012 thickness and .002 neck tension. This is for a bolt, so your auto loader you may be better with a little more tension, as you already probably know.

i think i just discovered my failure to feed. i had carbon build up in the gas key i took a drill bit and started her in and got quite a bit of carbon out of it. it now fully strips a round from the mag and locks the lugs in. this weekend i will try it again.

I found my magic in this caliber with 40.5-42.0 gr H4350, CCI#250, and the 140 Amax, None in this range shot over 1/2 MOA and the best were just barely under 1/4 MOA @ 200, velocities were obviously reduced from the 123 pills but still very respectable. I'm a few shoots into deer-sized critters with this load and have had great terminal performance as well. Not trying to sway you, as we all have different needs and goals, but sharing my personal experience in case it helps.

roger that, that fantastic. is yours a bolt gun?. as of now i have only tried the 123 amax. they were the first thing i picked up. i was gonna try some nosler 123 cc from sps. i have thought about the 140s but my enterwebs research said they were probly better out of a bolt gun. I was wondering how the performance on game was with the amax. I have read it is actualy s decent longer range round for deer. I also think im goona try rebarreling an old 243 rem of mine to 260.

Mine IS a bolt gun, I plan a future 260 BHW AR build soon however. We are buying some rec land and I'm on restriction until the deal is closed but my BHW 260 barrel will be on order the day the shackles are removed! Interested to see how yours keeps handling!
Cheers, Tim

very nice. i did a lot of reading of reviews before i pulled the trigger on mine. i found most of my info on predator masters forum it seemed. I'm not disappointed at all. i have about 100 rounds through her now and it seems my biggest group at 100 has been a lil over an inch so far. i also ordered a 7 rem mag barrel for a rem 700 action i had laying around. not put together yet still awaiting funds.

I know I am late to the game but did you ever figure out your problem not loading from magazine? I was curious.

Ended up swapping the 24 inch bull for a lighter tube . Updated the paint. The 24 inch tube shot pretty darn good but I kept finding myself reaching for lighter rifles. So a standard 18 did the trick for me wanting to pack it around again. It has been responsible for filling the freezer this season and dropping some yoters.
