I'm sitting here waiting (as patiently as I can) for my new barrels to be made (jumped on the shot show special and have 4 on order ) and I'm trying to find a muzzle brake for the 20in 308 bull barrel. Can anyone tell me the diameter at the muzzle? I also have a 20in .264lbc bull, is that one going to have the same dimensions? I don't want to end up with a brake that is smaller in diameter than the barrel, looks kinda goofy. Thanks -Owen

My bulls measure right on 925. The 308 should be the same. Drop Jason a note to double check.

Well shoot, I was hoping for a little smaller. Time to keep looking, wanted to run battle comp BABC but its .900 and JP recoil eliminator biggest is .875 which I thought was going to be to small but was my first pick. Thanks.

Like I said, give Jason an e-mail or call. Perhaps he can work with you. These aren't called custom barrels for nothing. Greg

Hey Guys,
I need your help...new to the AR community and am building my 1st AR10/308 to go shooting with my father. I just got my 24" "standard" BHW 308 barrel (.75 gas block) from Surplusammo on Monday and it looks great. However, it is not the Bull barrel that I wanted (I was confused by the Hbar designation on their website...completely my fault). I have talked to BHW and they said they would swap it out for me, as long as i pay for the upgrade to the Bull and the shipping (how awesome are they). My question is this. I am building this rifle for long range precision shooting and will treat it like a bolt action and not an AR (just love the AR look). Will the Bull barrel be better for my application...800m plus. I will be doing my own loading and treating the rifle like my 1st born..well maybe HaHa. I don't mind the 10 week wait. I just don't' want to have any regrets. I am only building one rifle and I want it to be better the I can shoot.
Thank you for any help you can provide regarding barrel applications.

They are easier to shoot from prone and on a rest. Less heat build up. My long range rifles are bull barrels. BTW you just learned why dealing with a middle man is not always the best thing. A phone call or two would have saved you a ton of aggravation.
Keep us posted on how the build goes.

Greg,
Thank you for your reply. I sent my barrel back to BHW yesterday. I had/have a good feeling about the decision. With that said, I absolutely loved the way the barrel I received from Surplus looked and felt. It was very well built and finished, and it was nice and heavy, so I think the Bull Barrel will be just more of a "good thing". As mentioned before, this is my first build and I am really looking forward to its completion, but I have no problem being patient and waiting for what I want. Once she is complete, I will post pics and build details. And, of course, once she is dialed in, I will post groupings and final long range rounds choice. I'm hoping that JP over at BHW (very nice fella by the way) was a little conservative on the estimated time frame for the completion of the new barrel, so I can come back and post here sooner than later.
