Hello to all on BHW forum. I've been looking on getting a BHW Barrel for awhile now for my first build in 5.56. Looking for shooting long range, 600 yards plus, but I can't decide on the barrel length I want. I have narrowed it down between 18",20", 22" or 24" but I really don't know. I'm looking for the best accuracy I can get out of one of these barrels using match ammo & handloads. Can somebody please help me out on this barrel, I would really appreciate it. Thanks

Howdy from Houston TX larryb. Welcome to the forum. Which platform do you intend to use? AR or Bolt action? Either way someone with an educated opinion will answer you soon.

Welcome to the board. Are we talking lay on your belly single shot formal or magazine fed fun stuff? Will it be target only or multi-purpose? Anytime you step out at six football field lengths I start looking for barrels that start with 2 and end in 4.

I"m sorry I didn't mention it in my post, but it will be a AR Platform I will be using. The build I want to do is mainly for Target practicing for long range but also for hunting coyotes sometimes. Thanks

Given that a 20" or a 22" standard weight would be the ticket. The 20" will be a bit more portable but I tend to always go longer if fixed place target shooting is going to be the main fare.
