Yesterday I ordered another barrel, so the wait begins. While I wait I figured I would poke around here and ask a few questions. See I have 3 uppers and lowers sitting around, one will go to this new barrel in 264lbc, one for a sbr 300blk and
the last I was looking at the American 30. Problem is I don't reload. So the question, would this cartridge be a good choice for a beginner? I've been planning on starting to reload anyways for other ammo I shoot but I'm not sure if reloading a
wildcat would be something to jump into. I used to help my dad when I was younger and I have friends that reload however I don't know anyone personally that has ever went into the wildcat endeavor.
The 300blk I plan on build will be 10.5" barrel. Anyone you has been on the web reading about the 300blk has came across questions or someone with a problem if the firearm will cycle properly and comments about gas port size. To my
understanding BHW doesn't have any of these known problems? This is going to be a sbr with a can on it so 99% of the time it will be suppressed, that is when the paper work comes back but before then I still want to be able to shoot it without
any problems.
Thanks in advance for any help or comments Lerms

The BHW BLK's run fine. Port size is the key on most of these small ones. Suppressed should give you plenty of pressure.
For a first wildcat the 6X45 is a nice start. Dies are available and a ton of data. The 20 Practical is another one using a single bushing die and it is fast. Both use the 223 case so that is a plus. THe A-30 is a velocity/performance step up from the BLK but is does require trimming of the cases with some die adjustment as it is held off the shell holder.
