ok, an ounce of confusion, I ordered a BHW 6.5 "Grendel" 1:9 "type 1" barrel from Surplus ammo, which bolt? Is this BHW's standard 264 LBC chamber or something different? I know "Grendel" normally means a (.136" depth) grendel bolt and "264 LBC Type 1" normally means a (.125") 7.62x39 bolt. but I'm confused by both the "Grendel" reference and the "Type 1" reference in the same description. Anyone have any real world experience from Surplus Ammo on this barrel?
On a side note, I'm fine with either bolt, I just want to make sure I get the correct bolt for this barrel for obvious reasons,

That being said, they do make the 264LBC. The default bolt is a type 1. It has a .125 deep bolt face. Also known as a 7.62X39 bolt. If the barrel is marked BHW 264 LBC type 1 use the 7.62 bolt.

All barrels coming out of that vendor that I am aware of lately are stamped 264 LBC Type I. You need the 7.62 bolt as Ritch said.

Perfect! Thank you! I'm guessing they're just marketing them as "Grendel" so the rest of the world knows what they are instead of "264 LBC" where there might be some confusion in other circles.

You are missing the point. THEY ARE NOT GRENDELS!! It is false advertising. They are 264 LBC barrels plain and simple. Greg

What part of NEVER don't you understand. They are not Grendel's. They are 264LBC's They are also stamped that way. SAA is using false advertising and purposely trying to mislead customers. Apparently some have been caught up in the same scam.

To be clear, I wasn't suggesting they were grendel barrels either, I used the word grendel because that was in the description of the ad for the barrel, I was merely speculating as to why they said grendel instead of 264 LBC. Their reference to Grendel and Type 1 in the product decription is what caused my initial confusion as well, thus prompting my original question which you both cleared up. I am quite pleased that it IS a Lbc chamber but do agree that they should change their description. With BHW being the supplier of that product do they have any pull in changing the mislabling?

He's been doing this for quite awhile. Ritch and I have to correct the false assumptions all over the net. I haven't seen any movement on his part and I'm sure it's been addressed with them. Greg
