Yeah I think I got you confused. I'm referring to two different tools from Sinclair. I understand the bullet seating depth gauge but the question is about the chamber Gauge that you insert into a fired case and then insert into the chamber of the rifle, then measuring from the end of the tool to the head of the case to get length of the chamber. Using that measurement do you trim the case .005 short or more? Maybe I'll have to post some pictures. Thanks Lerms Yes you trim the case with the plug when you are looking for max case length to the ledge. That has nothing to do with loaded rounds though. All you are going to so is get the MAX fudge room for trimming. I have those and have used them in the past. Just a data point that I really didn't need to know but I was interested. Greg

So if you were reloading 223 you would trim to 1.750 instead of finding the max for your rifle?
Ps. sorry for all the dumb questions.

I don't piss myself easily, but thanks for the reply. Lerms You would not believe the Chicken Littles that I chat with in private that do. Often they focus on some tiny aspect of the process and are worse than my Boston Terriers and a ball. Tunnel visoin and +4 anxiety is rampant. Greg
