Graham, one of the converts to BHW barrels, sent this group to me last PM. It was shot with his 243 LBC at 610 yards using the 95 SMK that we have been using for long range shooting. It was over a charge of XBR 8208 that has been found to be an outstanding performer with this cartridge. The group measures a bit under 4" which is not bad shooting no matter what the gear at that range. His very nice rifle: And the group that he wishes he could fold up and put in his wallet: Great shooting Graham. I hope there are many more out there that you will share in the future. Greg PS:Why a 243 LBC? A litte ballistic dry lab with the 243 95 SMK (BC (.480) vs the 6.5 Hornady 123 (BC.510) with the LBC starting at 3000 FPS when I shoot it and the Hornady published 2580 FPS factory load shows the LBC at 2091 with 18.2" less drop at 500 and 3" less windage at the same distance the Grendel was 1796 FPS. Energy was 922 for the LBC and 881 for the G. At 1000 the LBC was running 1384 with the Grendel at 1219. The 243 had 110" less drop and 12.7" less drift. Energy was 404 for the LBC and 406 for the Grendel. The more you shoot it the more you like it.

I have gotten away from the tipped bullets, except the 58 grain Vmax. The plastic tip is not your friend in a short magazine like the AR15. The tip measures .100 plus, which will set the bullet that same .100 farther away from the rifling. If you CAN reach the rifling with the tipped bullet it will force you to seat the bullet that same .100 deeper into the powder space.
