I'm thinking of getting a prefit chambered in 6x45; I'd want to run the 105 Amax at 2.50"(ish) COAL for a dual-purpose deer/range load.
My question is will the chamber available from BHW allow use of that bullet, and if not, are custom freebores available?
Thanks!

My question is will the chamber available from BHW allow use of that bullet, and if not, are custom freebores available? Thanks! Putting one together Ritch determined you can load it. On practical note it will eat up case capacity something fierce. There are far better bullets out there for the little guys. An 87 is much better with better velocities that you can use with the 105's. A 90 grain Sierra Game King or the 87 Hornady would be a far better bullet choice IMHO. The 105 will be about 2500 fps. If you are reading guys getting 2700 in a 20" tube out of it on PM that is pure unadulterated BS. I've shot one for 30+ years and it ain't happening. I did shoot some 105's loaded LONG in the 6X6.8 and I achieved 2775, in a 24" with a case that holds 20% more capacity. Not easy on components in a 223 based cartridge if your goal is in that area. The pressure will be around 63,000+ PSI in the 6X45 with a 24" barrel hitting, by computer modeling, 2703. Barely sustainable in a bolt gun at 2.250. Impossible to reach safely in an AR even loaded to 2.314 with a 20" barrel the pressure will jump to 77,345 psi. The load claimed on PM of 24.9 H335 loaded to 2.248 shows a CALCULATED 2585 at 60,687 psi in a 20". To do 2725 it takes 26.39 at 73,695 psi. Not good. Greg

I've been told 2600fps from 105s in a 20" 1:8 barreled Rem 700, throated to run 105s @ AICS 223 mag length (roughly 2.50"), with 8208XBR.
I'd like 2500fps from 18", if possible. I'm willing to run 'warm' but not 'hot'.

It will be fun to see how it runs with 26" to maximize the speeds. Greg
