Does anyone know of a distributor that carries the "extra small" decapping pins necessary for Lapua "Grendel" brass? Even a part number would help! Hornady's site is "no help", and has a disclaimer that pins aren't available "on line".
Off topic: Bulgarian ("10" headstamp) 7.62x39 seems to use the "small hole" in their large primer cases.

Walt I just called them up and they sent me some for the 6 PPC like you need. I use mine on the small hole Lapua. Not much help. I suspect on those Bulgarians I'd fire up a drill as they are just cannon fodder quality anyway. It would be blaspheme to do it to Lapua. Hornady sells a 17-20 decapping pin that will work on the small holes per the Grendel boys. Midsouth sells them I believe. Greg

If you wait a bit I bet you can pick up a match grade cannon fodder shooter. I doubt mine will ever have more than 20 rounds of steel through it. LOL I just cant stand the thought of running that through a BHW chamber. There will be a 7.62X39 board down the road. Remember even a blind hog finds a few acorns. I'm looking forward to doing it and the 300 BLK that many feel is completely inaccurate. Haters exist for every cartridge on the planet including the "...phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range" Greg

Called Hornady; "one" for free, but if I wanted spares, $1.50 each plus $4.95 shipping. I ordered one.

For informational purposes what's the load data on that one. JP tells me mine isn't too far out. I have dies, bullets, cases and powder. Greg

Hi All,
I just had a strange thing happen concerning decapping pins. I like the LEE reloading equipment and especially the dies.
I am in the middle of my .264 LBC build. I have reloaded 60 rounds of Lapua brass for barrel break in. I have several 7.62 X 39 steel range empties that got picked up by accident. I was making a dummy round for my build ( for lapping my bolt lugs). I ran it through the die and it bent the decapping pin 90*. Called LEE and they are sending me 2 free ones.
Upon inspection, the empty is "Berdan primed" with 2 offset primer holes. So thought that I would interject that thought for y'all to beware of!

The 7.62X39 I have picked up over time is all brass., I'm pretty diligent in sorting it. We use to see lots of it back in the 70's and 80's in many chamberings. Today not quiet so much and that is a blessing. Greg
