I finally had a chance to take a deer with my 6x6.8. It performed admirably and got the job done without any fuss.

Well done sir. Out of curiosity what bullet did you use?

I used an 85 grain Nosler Partition. I have settled on that bullet for all of my hunting this fall and winter.

Good deal. I've been working up a 70gr load for coyotes & I just found out today I got drawn for javelina so I was looking at either the partition or 85gr Sierra GK for that upcoming hunt.

Using 29.0 grains of 8208 with the partition and CCI 450 primers loaded to 2.280 yielded 2895 fps from my 18" barrel. I think that bullet at that velocity should do the trick on most anything, especially Javelina.
Where are you going on your hunt?

I'm in Arizona, they haven't posted results yet. But they withdrew the fees from my account. We put in for areas down by Tucson & also up by Roosevelt Lake.
