One of the problems with getting an x39 to shoot accurately is brass. There is plenty of "high dollar" brass available, but that doesn't really fit my budget! I've found a few places which have once fired brass "now and then", but you really need to look. When you do a search, you'll find that the "high traffic" sites come up first (that's the way search engines are designed). Go down through the pages to the less traveled sites.
I found some brass at <http://www.carolinabrass.net/apps/webstore/>. I ordered Friday night, received confirmation from John, the owner, Friday night, and it was shipped Saturday. I received it Monday. The brass has obviously been tumbled, so it's very clean. All you need to do is size, trim, and what other magic you do to your brass, and you're ready to go. About 2/3 of my order was Fiocchi, 1/4 PPU, the rest FC, S&B, R-P, Winchester, etc. I received a bite more than what I ordered. The usual AK/SKS dings, but nothing that won't size/fireform.
Oh, if you're a Veteran, you get a 5% discount... and right now there is a 10 percent "Black Friday" sale going on. I don't think you can get both, but either one is a help. <https://plus.google.com/events/cphelcmmretl3fdc984m0spgkqs?cfem=1>
I have three x39 uppers (none are BHW, yet); all will shoot 7-10 shot MOA groups (I use both group sizes depending on how I feel!), all shoot .308 bullets into groups only slightly larger. The only malfunctions have been caused by new loads not at the COL the upper like (I start "loading long"), and that includes SP bullets.
Don't let the BS on the web, mostly old and outdated, scare you away from the x39. BTW, I also have three 300AAC uppers, so don't think I'm trying to talk you into something I haven't "researched"!
