I'm thinking about running a adjustable gas block on my build. I would like a clamp on style and still be able to run it under a slim handguard anyone done this yet?. Afraid of clearance issues before I buy a handguard. Some slims are slimmer than others. You might contact BTE, Battle Tested Equipment, directly and ask George about his. I run both and the set screw is perfectly fine in mine. Since the barrels are dimpled it is not a challenge to place it correctly. Greg

Ok will check with them on that, I guess I thought that the bhw barrels weren't dimpled for the set screws. I don't see any pricing or in stock micro gas blocks on their site. Any other places you can recommend picking one up?. Thanks Shane

It really depends on which gas block and which handguard. The manufacturers websites usually show the dimensions of the pieces. I have seen the bolt heads of the clamp on blocks rub the hand guard at times. Which parts are you planning on running?

I was thinking a 16.5 guntec handguard with the clamp on micro bte adjustable gas block. Nothing set in stone yet as I just ordered my barrel so I have some time.

Finally got my barrel last weekend and got my gun put together. Really appreciate the help from the members here with all my questions. I only managed to get 10 rounds down range but everything functioned fine. I will do some more loading this weekend and run them over the chronograph. I started with 95gr Bergers and 29gr of cfe223 and went up to 31 and didn't see any signs of pressure yet so looks good. I would post some pics but I'm not having any luck with that so far. i.imgur.com/oRAr9eTh.jpgi.imgur.com/S29HK8ch.jpg

Well did some more testing today with 95 Bergers and cfe223. Started at 31.5 and went to 32.2 these were the first ones paper and after the first group I think I lost focus. Velocity was 2800 and topped out at 3000 which seems like it is about max. but either way I'm very happy with the way it's going so far. I have some 105's but not really sure I'm even going to bother if I can run 3000 with the 95. I am using the hornady brass which I thought I had read had thicker necks but it seems like I could use a bit more neck tension and I'm using a .269 bushing. Anyone else use my the hornady brass.? i.imgur.com/ceJ95gah.jpgi.imgur.com/t0pOSeqh.jpgrs38.pbsrc.com/albums/e112/1978Crewcab/IMG_1294_zps4ipmgrgb.jpg?w=480&h=480&fit=clip

I have also found the Sierras did as well in mine as the Bergers and are much cheaper. You want about 0.003 neck tension so just measure a loaded round and subtract hat from it for your bushing size. Based on work hardened barss and spring back many will add 0.001 to that figure and make it just a tad tighter. BTW I use Photobucket for easier posting of my pics. Greg

What's a realistic velocity for the 105's I'm running a 22". I'll will measure some and see what I come up with and maybe get another bushing on the way. thought that there must be an easier way with the pics thanks.

269 bushing didn't give enough neck tension with Hdy brass IMO. It actually had thinner necks than Lapua or Norma IME. I go 268 with those and 267 with Hdy. If you have the 95's at 3k fps I think you'll really like it downrange.
On another note you're going to like the barrel life on this one. I just got a bore scope to check out my barrels since they were too cheap to pass up on Midway. My 243 lbc has lost it's accuracy edge and now I suspect it's due to a bunch of hard carbon fouling I'm currently working on and not throat erosion. 16 to 1700 rounds and I can see NO fire cracking anywhere. Very little copper fouling ever in this barrel.
