Hello, I am getting ready to turn my own 243 LBC barrel. Its going to be 11.5 inches with a bull contour. What size gas hole should I put in it? I was refered here as BHW is the definitive source for info on the caliber

Look around for data on the Grendel same same gas needs. Alternatively just call Columbia River and ask.

Follow up question. Since the only difference between 243 lbc and 264 lbc is neck diameter, if I bought the 243 reamer could I change the pilot on it and use it to ream a 6.5 barrel?

I suppose that is possible just using a throating reamer since the 243 will be up past the edge of the 264 bore. Greg

Next question, what is the difference between 6mm BPC and 243 LBC? I was told by a reamer company they are the same but want to make sure before I order anyhting

They ARE NOT THE SAME!!! The PPC has a shorter shoulder and the capacity is different. Who was the company? Not all LBC's are the same though some will try to tell you all of them are the same. There are nuances in free bore shoulder placement and neck size. Performance may well be the same but they are different.

But now theyre backpedaling saying theyll order an actual 6 grendel/243 LBC reamer There really is no true 6 Grendel. They play on the name. It has a regular 1.5° throat just like the LBC and is not a compound like a true Grendel. Greg

It won't be the BHW reamer but should be OK. If you do the work remember chambering is done fore a 125 bolt not the 136 like the Grendel depth. Greg

I was going to chamber using the bolt.
Put the go gauge in the extension and lock the bolt behind it then tighten the extension and use feeler gauges to measure the gap to see how much farther I needed to go.
Its not your reamer, but I doubt you guys would let me borrow yours
