I currently have 4 .257 caliber rifles and love the caliber. I was wanting something for an AR platform that could be used for deer hunting for a younger child or possibly a handicapped/limited hunter. I have a friend that has a hunting show on TV and once I have the weapon done they may use it for a few hunts with some special hunters that can not use a full sized weapon. I opted for the 22 inch standard profile and got it threaded just incase I do some varmint hunting and use it suppressed. I ordered the barrel in February and it should be here any day!!!

Sounds like it will be put to good use. Maybe a 25 with more oomph but still low recoil on a non-223 case could be designed. You just never know what is lurking in men's minds. Greg

I have always liked the 25 caliber. When my current 6x68 project is done or nearing completion, this may well be the next in line. A 25x45 or maybe a 25x6.8 Gives me something to start planning.

The 25's are pretty well ignored in the small capacity cartridges. The 25X45 has gotten some respect over the years. A 25X6.8 would take some coin up front and time at the drawing board with an investment with the reamer guys as no one has a simple neck down design at this point. Maybe some brrave soul will step up with plastic in hand. I believe that the concept has been proven. Watch the horizon. I hear hoof beats Greg

Just an update on an old post ( I am KAG, lost my login so had to register again with new ID). I now have about 4K+ or so rounds through my BH 25x45 barrel I used to build my AR25-45 long ago. It's been great. I have really settled in on AR-COMP powder for it. I mainly shoot the 70BK, 90BK, and 100gr sp but have worked up many loads and bullets to just just see what if.
Getting ready to build another 25x45 for my 14y/o so plan to order another 18" barrel. I really like the 18" barrels for 25x45 but I do not see them offered on the site any longer?

Sounds like you're doing well. Give them a call and see what they have tucked away.

Replied....
Nosler Partition Bullets 100gr as just such a damn good bullet on hog and deer. Used the 115gr in my 25-06 in when I lived in Alaska on Caribou but the 115gr are too long in the 25x45

IMO, that's the beauty of the 110gr FTX - it just fits, with good accuracy and excellent performance. Plus, I lucked into a sale of "blems" and bought a thousand. I'd sure like to see more interest in the 25-45. It's just too good a round to die a quite death.
I was stationed in AK for two years. Best tour of my twenty + years... on Adak! I'm sure lots of folks would disagree. No matter since it's all gone now.

Well I would but their phones do not work at Columbia River Arms.....
I did send them an email but I m sure it takes a while since their telephones are inop as I imagine they are getting saturated with emails.
Edit; Wandered into a Predator Forum thread that had a link for 25x45 BH barrels....bought a couple and plan to purcha couple more on payday
