Pigs are fun to hunt/shoot & it provides a service.
To those who wished they had em to hunt. Just wait, they'll be there. I grew up around hunting around this part of Texas & never saw 1 when I was kid. Now they're everywhere and they tear up everything. They tend to disrupt your deer pattern when hunting and can reek havoc on crops.
Hunting harvest doesn't make a dent in their population as they can breed 3 times a year. And I've heard it said that litters average 9; with 12 living to adulthood.

Brokehoss is right!! I have tried trapping them and it doesn't make a dent. I unfortunately have a pasture full of live oak trees and they love rooting for acorns. They have torn parts of it up so bad I can't get a tractor over it to disk it up for a food plot. I am talking 3' deep holes!! There is no immediate solution in sight. Texas just approved hunting them from a helicopter but for people with dense tree cover it does us no good and the cost is not economical at all.

I am told that it quite a bit of fun to use weapons lights & even calls at night. I do quite a bit of predator hunting at night with the use of them, & let me tell ya what a rush!!!! I actually bought a night vision rifle scope for it, & have only used it once. It is hard to use & not move around allot. I found that using the lights doing momentary flashes looking for eyes really cut down on the movement.... I have a 4.3mv green laser that also makes a yotes eyes light up if you get with in 15' of them..... Still have not got the coyote to chase the dot like my dog dose but that is probably because I don't wit to shoot them.... ;D ;D ;D

Hogs are harder to hunt than many think. They're actually very smart & have good hearing & smell. They don't behavior pattern as easily as deer.
I've had fair luck baiting, both night & day. And with the heat this year waterholes/wallows are pretty good. The key is persistence.

And they love powered jello with corn. Bury it a couple feet deep with a post hole digger.
