Hello All, I am considering adding sub-forums to the AR section of the forum. For those who aren't familiar with forum lingo, a sub-forum works kind of like a filing cabinet. Currently when you click on the AR section of our forum you will be shown every post and topic made in that section. Some might find this hard to navigate because information is kind of all over the place and can result in double questions being asked. But by adding sub-forums you would then click on the AR section of the forum and be led to a new directory where I'd have subsections sorted by caliber. Then you'd click on the caliber you want to look at and will only have access to information and discussions about that caliber. I know to some this may seem like a no brainier, but I'd like to give you guys a say before I just suddenly start moving everything around on you folks There's a chance I'd take the forums offline for about an hour to do this type of maintenance. So all posting would be disabled at that time. Also, if you have any other suggestions as far as user-ability goes, please let me know. I am working on some alternate skins so users can chose different color themes as some have expressed that our default color scheme can be hard to read. Don't be afraid to let me know. If there is something I can do to help, just ask. I'm usually willing to research information as this forum can be hard to customize, but it's not necessarily impossible. -kiz

I would say it is a good deal but, and there is always one of those, an HOUR without the Forum would be like a year in Phoenix with no sunshine!! Very depressing.

I like the idea. I always browse the new posts but I think caliber specific info would also be handy.

I think that would be very helpful. I skim through the index but it would be good to rummage through caliber specific info.

Good idea. Multi-caliber and also a multi-platform section. No since in talking about .308 length rounds in the 5.56 length rounds section or vice versa. I can even see a SBR/pistol section and it still not getting too crazy or convoluted to be easily navigable.

Sub folders would be great. I really agree with "Bigbore's" take on this as well. All kind of chatter on cartridges but keeping it on Mil Spec (5.56 x 45 mm) based upper receivers and lowers keeps comparing apples to apples vs. apples to oranges and may cause some misunderstanding which could prove to be expensive.
Please organize this forum. As a newbie, I find it all informative but a little work. Some of us don't live on-line and actually shoot and hunt.

If you don't mind breaking it up, I'd go for it. I have bought a 5.56x45 & 6x45 barrel from BHW and when I cruise the BHW forums these are the posts that (at this point) interest me the most. It might benefit new shooters to have them organized so as to get them into the best place to find the info they seek without too much hunting around.

Since we seem to have a bunch of wildcat rounds (for now at least) collecting the commercial separate from the one-off and wildcats sounds like an excellent idea.

Thank you all for the feedback! I'm going to start creating the sub-forums today. I may shut the site down when I start moving threads around. So things may get confusing for a little bit if you're trying to locate a current topic, but I'm going to try and keep the current ones on top. So if you all notice things moving around, that's just me tinkering. I'm thinking s long as I'm not pulled off to help on the floor, I should have all this done by the end of today.

Sub-forums all the way. Yes, do it please.
You said it. It is only common sense to organize all the varied topics contained within. The result is a much easier forum to use.
Not just by calibers but also by areas of interest. So they might overlap.
