Hi folks recently received my 264LBC barrel bolt combo. Got it assembled in one of my DSA's upper i had in the safe, everything went fine except when i tried to chamber a loaded round the bolt would not lock into battery (yes i know check the case to make sure is sized properly) well i am using brand new AA brass but have some Lapuas p/u at the range and the same thing.Did this and i hope somebody can chime on it , removed the extractor and i was able to close the bolt into battery with both type cases. So could it be the extractor out of spec, need tuning or new bolt?

Regards CZfour52 Type I or Type II bolt? Just for giggles size one of your cases back about 0.010 and try it in the chamber. I bet it will slide right in. A Type I will be that much smaller in head space than the Type II. I am doing that on my 20 LBC as I am using a Type I and standard shoulder height brass will not let the bolt close. You can take a caliper and measure the bolt face depth. A Type I one will read 0.125 and a Type II will read 0.135. Just extend the tail of the part that sticks out on to the face of the bolt. Shove the caliper down and when the ruler part of the caliper stops on top of the bolt you will have your reading and your answer. It is not a big deal to set your dies up as it will be a constant in your reloading activities. Greg

Just measured it and is type II .135. As far as adjusting the dies, the bolt closes w/o extractor, and cases practically fall out of the chamber when i point the muzzle up. You think it is still a die adjustment issue?.By the way I am using Redding dies.
I was hoping to break in the barrel this weekend.
Thx GLS for helping me out on this ,hope is something i can fix on my end.

CZfour, It sounds like you have a bad extractor. I just talked with the owner of Black Hole Weaponry about your problem.
If you will send your bolt back to Black hole they will be happy to send you a new replacement bolt.

At least it is a simple fix. Greg

Spoke to Gail to get RA# and said to ship out the upper i put together, so Carl can look at it as a whole and possibly tested. According to UPS they should get it next Tuesday,I am waiting anxiously for results and most of all getting it back in working order to take it to the range.
I've build several Ar's before in.223 but this is the first one in a different caliber, and hope it wont be the last one as I am eying a 6x45 barrel in the overstock section for the next build.
