So I am building a .300 Blackout and need to choose a gas block. I was thinking of going with an adjustable one for fine tuning, if it becomes necessary, and have it narrowed down to two options. A PRI or JP the difference is in how they are held onto the barrel. The PRI uses set screws, and I have heard of guys having dimmples put into the barrel for the set screws to ride in to further eliminate twisting or movement. The JP clamps on. I know people who use the JP and swear by them. What do you folks say?

Both are well made products. It really is personal preference which way to go. I have not had a gas block move after it has been tightened with the set screw style. Just make sure you get the set screws tight and you won't need any dimples.

Both are great options although I prefer clamp style due to the fact that applies pressure uniformly all around. Hard to go wrong either way anyway but also keep in mind if you are going to play with subsonic might want a block that can switch quickly between supersonic and supersonic and specially if you are going to do suppressed work. The screw ones are adjustable but do not provide a quick way to change settings reliable. Also the adjusting screws have been a reason for concern in the earlier models staying tuned but this might have been addressed.
I have used JP adjustable ones with good success but ended up custom building a couple for quick change to suppressed + subsonic mode. I have it set with 4 positions + complete cancel.
Folks report very good feedback from the quick adjust from the noveske switchblock.
