Thinking about re barreling my 16" 5.56 Wilson upper to 300 Blackout. I have a new complete bolt group to go with new barrel. Any problems with this project? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

It should work. Only consideration is the gas block if your objective is also suppressed. Cheers.

I am building one too, going with a PRI adjustable gas block for fine tuning if I need it.

I didn't mean fine tuning but if subsonic is in the menu you need one with a switch and tune up the porting. IF subsonic is not intended then do not worry about it. I do prefer clamp type blocks vs set screw.

You are going to love this chambering! I am currently working with the Hornady 168gr. AMax and Sierra 175 gr. MK using Accurate 1680 and just loaded some Berger 210's. I'm also anxious to go the other direction, and plan on ordering the 115 gr. Barnes TTSx style bullets from Wilson Combat for the 7.62x40.

I have really come to like my 16" CMMG .300 AAC Blackout upper. I have yet to find a load it won't cycle of course that means factory loads. I just bought 1250 pieces of formed brass with 250 of it being primed 2010 Lake City brass. I'm getting ready to try handloads soon. I've decided to work on the subsonic loads first and am going to start with Hornady's 208 grain A-Max bullet. I'm hoping to try out using Barnes' 130 grain TSX bullet for a hunting load. I found (finally) a set of loading dies. Bought an 8 pound bottle of Accurate 1680 powder and a couple thousand primers. Really looking forward to exploring the capabilities of this cartridge.
