Just so every one has this straight. Andy is writing about the 243 LBC. The 6X45 works great with the 1 in 9. However in our experience from actual field testing the 243 LBC the 1 in 10 twist barrels have prov-en superior for this cartridge.

I think that some of us forget there are two animals in that barn and one is a lot faster than the other!! Since the 6X45 has been around for going on 4 decades or so the twist issues have been worked out pretty well. This modern push for new goodies has sure put the shooting world in flux for what works and what doesn't. My other 6X45's are 1:10 so this new one, here tomorrow I hope, should be a nice challenge for my learning curve. I lusted over the 90 grain Bergers today and just know I'll get some 95 VLD's to try as a single load. I know that when I finally get with the program on the 243 LBC I'll be trying all those bad boys. Greg

Is the 1 in 10" twist still the best all around choice for bullets up to 95gr? This thread is so old there is no mention of the fact that BHW has 8, 9 and 10 twist available now, and some of the newer group pics I've seen have been shot with the 1 in 8".

I'm shooting a 9 at 500. I just ordered s replacement for it as an 8. You can look on AR15ARMORY.COM also for more information. Greg
