A spur hammer on a beavertail? I had to bob the heck out of my AMT for clearance on the beavertail. Is this a special beavertail?

The lower was done about 1985 so I have a bit of problem remembering. ;D I know that some have a lot more clearance than others. Greg

My first 1911 build. SARCO parts and and a lot of self teaching. It shoots great and I learned an awful lot about the 1911 platform. I'm glad I don't have to depend on this to make my living. I do have another box-o-parts put up for when my son gets home. He wants to build one too.

LOL, I think anyone who has worked on their own 1911 has a box of spare parts. I know I do.
GLShooter, my grip safety is a McCormick, but I've also fit a STi GS to it too and neither one had enough clearance to allow a full spur hammer. Then again my hammer was a wide target spur so I had to do a lot of grinding to get it narrow enough anyway.

I've got a couple of the regular spur hammers that are, shall we say, quite a bit smaller than OEM size!! A Dremel CAN be your friend........sometimes. Greg

Here's one from my flock. Sometimes, a sub $500 1911 wants to feel pretty too. ;D
