Just a quick report as I have to hit the reloading room hard!!
The match was a great deal of fun. As it was my first time at this endeavor I got there early and helped put up new target faces and boards in the pits. Signed up and got squadded. Three relays today so about 20 guys shot. I saw some very expensive gear up there. Those Panda actions are supper cool as are the MAK chassis on the Remingtons.
Temp started at about 75 at 0800 and was 101 at 1200 when we finished. Lots of mirage and switching light winds made it , shall we say, interesting?
My first 20 shot s for record were the best twenty I had shot up until then. The wind was dead calm initially so It was matter of concentrating on the trigger pull. The next two stages of 20 did not go quite so well but I can say that the rifle preformed just like it should. I'm in my learning curve and ended up learning a great deal today.
I was the only unclassified shooter there so I guess I was first and last at the same time in my class!! I'll be buying a god rear sand bag and the wife wants me to spring fora $250.00 Sinclair F-Class bipod so I can run with the big dogs in the equipment race like any sport has.
They have a 1000 yard two day match next weekend but I know at this point I'd better learn my way at half that distance. The 223 setting next to the 6X6.8 is going to be wrung out hard in the next month and I suspect it will be my long gun for some time.
I'll post more as it goes along and I will be working up some good varmint loads on this one also very soon.
