What is the recommended flash suppressors that will match a blackened BHW barrel? My Vortex suppresors match my Chrome-lined barrels, but I am not experienced with blackened stainless barrels. Does anyone even make a stainless flash suppressor that can be finished to match a BHW barrel? I am thinking about building a 6.8 SPC II and wanted to understand what flash suppressor options I could use...

All my FS have been regular steel that have been blued and matte finished. I have never had a SS one . Most of mine would match BHW color very well. I just bought a JP Adjustable gas block, aluminum, that you swear had come out of the BHW blackening process as it is such a close color match.

That is good to know...I suppose I will get a few options that I like, e.g. S/A, Troy, YHM, etc... and see which ones match the best. Most all of my firearms are not jewelry guns, but I still like to have clean lines and not have my guns look like they were parted together incorrectly...

I have an old DTA MilBrake on an M16 that is a close match. If the current versions are the same you would be GTG. I think a big issue will be the 6.8 bore. I had a Miculek bored out so I could run it on a 6 PPC as no one had one that had a smaller hole available that I liked. Of course with all the 6.5's and 6.8's out there I bet someone is addressing that very issue as I type this. Greg

What difference do you get out of a $10 flash suppressor or an $80 one I want accuracy, I am not concerned with looks The more expensive ones, to a point, do a better job through port design. They also are usually finished better. As long as they line up and the bullet doesn't clip the front you are usually GTG. NONE of them, short of a tuner, will increase accuracy on a consistent basis. At times the extra weight out front will settle things down and you will get an improvement but buying one with that in mind is like noodling for cat fish. You might catch one or a turtle might bite your thumb off. Greg

All of my long range rifles like my .264 LBC-AR By BHW have a Regular Crowned Rifle Barrel with NO threads. Carl explained to me that a setup like that would be Much more Accurate than a threaded barrel & from what I have seen he is right. But my Blackout is threaded for my suppressor & my AR-15 has a J&P Rifles Break on it and the muzzle will Not Rise when fired at all! But if you forget to put just 1 ear plug in, your ear will Ring for a week, & it usually clears everyone from the shooting benches on each side of you ;D . They usually just pack up and leave because the Concussion is SO Bad from their angle to the muzzle. That Break would be Great for competition shooting!! Griffin Armament makes some really high quality 556 & 7.62 Flash Hider / Suppressors. Read the instructions that come with their flash Hiders sometime? It actually says in print, IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO STACK THEIR FLASH SUPPRESSORS TOGETHER TO MAKE A SILENCER, because it IS AGAINST the LAW!?? When I first read that I thought, hmmm It sounds like that would work, I'll have to try that some time. But I never did. It's like a wet paint sign, you have to touch it now just to see if it's really wet? I'm sure they have sold a Lot more of their products since they printed that on the Label. Eric
