Do the BHW barrels have a cut or dimple in the gas block area to help attach a certain type of gas block? ie.....pinned, set screw, or clamp.

Thanks, didn't know if there was particular style of gas block I needed to be looking for.

Thanks, didn't know if there was particular style of gas block I needed to be looking for. I have been using the clamp ons from JP and the screw type from KIES. They both work fine. Greg

Thanks, since there is no cut or dimples I was kind of leaning toward the clamp option. I am looking for a low profile gas block. If you had to pick one option which do you think is better, the clamp or set screw?

A standard order will come without any modifications made to the gas block area. We typically don't dimple the barrels unless a special request is made and approved before hand. I think there's also an extra shop fee involved.

So far the recommendation seems to be the set screw is the way to go. This surprises me. My thinking was that the clamp would work better because it is providing clamping force around the entire barrel, without dimples I would think there would only 2 points of pressure with the set screw. I would also think that without the dimples the gas block would be more prone to move. I could be wrong though.
