Anyone have any experience with the Ni-B coatings that companies like Failzero place on BCG's? Brownells had a stripped carrier on sale so I picked one up for my new build, since I am working on a 6.5 Grendel, Looks like I would have to send the bolt off to be coated, if i wanted to go with the entire package. they have a coated Cam pin for sale on their website, but shipping is as much as the pin, might just hold off on that for a bit.
The carrier I have is interesting, its dry, but feels like it has lube on it almost a greasy feel, very odd. supposedly, you can shoot these bolts dry, with no lube whatsoever. I think mines going to get just a bit anyway, considering my upper is a normal old black finish.

I love the carrier I have. It's been done as an entire carrier and no need for the bolt in my opinion since I swap them. The trigger in the lower I use it with is NiB coated as well.
I don't run the carrier soaking wet but I don't run my carriers that wet normally: coat and remove the excess. I feel the NiB is far better at wear and cycle ability.
I will say this, I sat for over an hour in the frigid rain last Saturday without the dust cover closed and no rust anywhere including the upper or carrier. More trials though.
