For bulk purchases, I've had good luck with www.ontargetammo.com They are a medium volume reloading company...but...their stuff is actually decent, and the powder isn't garbage like many, many others. Runs about $320 per 1000. Right now, prices are ridiculous. It always comes and goes in cycles. About a year ago there was a HUGE drop in pricing. I remember a certain mail order company that was hocking Lake City green tip 5.56mm for almost $750 per 1000....now that same "catalog company has it for $415...which is still too much. If you wait a bit... say mid Jan/Feb, when everyone is hurting from paying the post Christmast credit card bills...the industry usually drops prices for about 30-60 days to get business back in the door. My personal favorite company is www.sgammo.com the reasoning for this is that they always advertise their shipping rate...many, many companies absolutely hose you when it time to finish the purchase on shipping rates. Again...one of the "major catalog" companies seems particularly adept at screwing you in this department...you can figure which one, very easily, they are "cheap"....... SG AMMO, flat rate shipping on a crate of 2160 5.45 x 39 rounds is $28, and that's really good.

XMAS ought to give a few better deals out there. But the BEST deal on any of it is a Dillon 550 and six square feet of bench top. With the environment the way it is components stashed in a closet might make a great deal of sense.

My closet is a double wide type with shelving!! LO

I found that Hornady steel match is about the same price per round as most surplus but is much , much more accurate and clean.

LGS had 1000 rds for $600, they actually had a buy it now auction up on GB too and people weren't jumping on it (which is weird). I got a 420 rd. can of American Eagle XM855F 62 gr. which will penetrate steel plates. Bought it from the same LGS, now they're selling 20 rds. of American Eagle .223 for $20....$1/rd. Lucky I stocked up on 5.56/.223, .45 ACP, and .40 S&W ball and HSTs before SHTF.

Thansk for the information.
The reason that there are such large gaps is that we shut this board down for a period of time while some other changes were being made to our marketing and sponsorships. We decided to reopen it at the request of a multitude of BHW customers. It is slowly getting back with more and more members and postings. Carl and his entire Staff have been active in getting the word out.
