As most of you know I have been shooting Black Hole Weaponry barrels for quit some time now. My first barrel was a 6X45. I was going through some old targets and found these. I thought I would post them for you all to see. I think I have this barrel figured out. These are all 5 shot groups shot from a bench with a front and rear rest. They were shot through a chronograph but for some reason they didn't get written on the targets. Black Hole barrels impress me every time I shoot one. These loads are safe in my barrel. They may not be safe in yours. Reduce by 10% and work up from there.

Amazing groups. How tight is the fit between your upper and lower receiver on this rifle? Mine has some movement that though small I would like to address and get firmed up. How would you suggest to do this so it is as consistent as possible? Are you aware of a reasonable means to "bed" the upper and lower together?

Joe This rifle is a DPMS smooth side upper with a Rock River lower. The fit is not overly tight. It does have a small amount of play, like most all AR 15 rifles do. That can be taken out for the most part with an Acu-wedge. I Have one on my 6.8 SPC II and it works fine.

Again, wow. You would think any play in the action would not allow groups like that. I guess it goes to prove that if it moves the same way every time you can predict and compensate for it with your sights. Impressive to say the least. Thanks for the info.

Play between the lower and upper has no effect on accuracy on an AR. Unless it just affects your confidence....

The barrel is a 1 in 10 twist. I have a 9 twist that will shoot as well as this also.

Still waiting on my 6x45 barrel. This is making it a whole lot harder to wait. Awesome groups. I need to pre plan all of my builds in advance from now on so when i have the bug to build em, they are here!

That would like having a pre-arranged wife picked out for your wedding at birth. Without the thrill of the adrenalin rush when you open the boxes of parts and the anxiety of the wait what is left to life? Greg

Hi, Nice. what is the distance you are shooting these groups from?
Also, would the 6x45 BHW barrel with 1:9 twist stabilize the following bullets? Initially they are advertised by the manufacturer and/or documentation as they would stabilize with 1:9
6mm(.243) bullets ============ 1-Hornady 87gr HPBT 2-Hornady 87gr v-Max 3-Sierra 90gr GK FMJ 4-Sierra 100gr GK 5-Nosler 90gr Ballistic Tip. 6-Berber 95gr Hunting VLD - the bullet maker advertises this as 1:9 rate of twist minimum required.
I am not interested in lower grain hunting bullets as they do not have the same design and momentum to handle white tail specially out to 250+ yards.
Thanks.
