I'm looking to get a new scope for AR predator gun. Do mainly spot and stalk out in open country for coyotes(we save the pelts), also a little calling and then of corse take any spure of the moment opportunity that present themselves through out the season. I wanted to know if anyone has any experiences with the Vortex viper PST in the 6-24x 50 and what they thought about it? I have an older Leupold MK4 6.5-20 on my current gun and wanted to get a little more power, illuminated radical and a radical that is in MOA to go along with MOA turrets instead of the mils-MOA the Leupold has. But I can't really afford the $18-$1900's for the new Leupold. What do you all think? Glass, durability, warranty, features for the dollar? Thanks, andy.

thanks, that is encouraging and good to hear, i am totally unfamiliar with them. I'm a Nikon man myself. Monarch and prostaffs for different duties. However I've come to really appreciate the offerings from Viper. I'm working on a dealer license with them do I can sell them in my shop. In fact I have the very scope you're asking about on a rem 700 pss in 6.8spcii. A friend I built an upper for has the Mildot version and its quite the piece of glass.

Buy the PST. it is great japanese glass. Zero stop. Can do the same thing as a night force and others cost twice or three times as much.

I didn't have the PST model, but I had the Viper 6.5-20x50 with the mil-dot reticule.
I thoroughly enjoyed the scope until I sold it with the rifle it was on.
I will be buying more optics from Vortex after I get back from deployment.

Ive been eyeing that exact scope for awhile now. Friend of mine brought a model out one day and got to check it out. Very nice. Also had several rifles out there with all kinda glass from Millett to NF. And i will say this, i couldnt tell any difference in the PST and a couple NF's. Only thing i noticed was right at dark the NF stayed the clearest the longest. But it was only to the point where you couldnt see the crosshairs on target so it really didnt matter. I was just bout to order one and i found out how much i gotta pay in for taxes. Not good for my shooting play money

I really like NF optics and they are ridiculously clear, but for the money Vortex has got me covered. US Cav had a 20% off code that ended yesterday, but I didn't have the funds to grab a Vortex Sparc.

Boy, all that is great to hear, I've been a leupold fan(and still am) but for what I want they are just out of my price range. I appreciate all the responses.
