It's a shame to have to cover up the BHW barrel with a handguard This is a test fit before the final polish of the parts.

Another shot from the other side Still need a muzzle device for the barrel. That's a temporary thread protector while I figure out what to use. Brake, flash-hider... dunno yet.

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, definitely different.
Since much of this was machined by hand, it really wasn't that expensive. If you don't count your personal time sanding and polishing aluminum.
Major component costs: LAR Grizzly Side Charge Upper with BCG ~$300 as I recall The 80% lower was $59 (on sale at the time) Aluminum tube for the hand guard was $12 Misc. aluminum for the other parts was probably $20 (grip, gas block, barrel nut, picatinny rail for bipod). The Grendel mags were $16 each I think... The BHW Barrel... about $300, right? PRS Stock was $225 2-stage lower parts kit was $125 monopod is $100 6.5 bolt was what... $50? I don't remember actually. Bipod is a cheapie for now, $20. Maybe $50 for buffer tube/buffer, gas tube
So, what is that, about $1250 or so in hard costs?
Then about 15 hours of machine time And at least 15 hours of sanding and polishing
She's already proven to be an MOA shooter without a barrel break-in. From the 2-shot groups I've seen, this will be 3/4 maybe even 1/2 MOA when it's all done. For a semi-auto platform, that exceeds ALL my expectations.

Simply gorgeous.
What buffing/polishing equipment was used? I've got a beat up 226 whose slide I would like to buff to a similar shine.
Also, I just gotta ask, why didn't you go with a blinged out stock too?

Yeah, no bueno in the woods. This is "anti-tactical" that's for certain.
All the sanding was by hand. Started with 180 grit, then 220, then 400 (wet), 600, 1000, 1200 and finally 2000. I just used a buffing wheel with rouge (red) compound. From there I used Mothers Aluminum Wheel polish. That protects it somewhat so it doesn't tarnish quite as fast.
I took the Magpul PRS apart and have considered machining the shell out of aluminum. I think that's another project ;D

Now that is One Absolutley Beautiful AR..!! I have 1 almost exactly the same as yours, same right side LAR Grizzly side charging handle upper except mine is Black with a chrome bolt carrier. I have a Free Float Forearm but mine is Black coated Aluminum made by (ATI) and it even has even has the eight different positions to mount anything on at any position. I even have the same Konus M-30 scope with a Blue light up reticle and mount. Same Magpul PRS Black Stock and Monopod. But I have a GG&G bipod. But Brother, your rifle is 10,000 times more Beautiful than mine. That is absoleutly Georgeous and is just Sexy as it can be. I have Never in my life seen anything like it, I hope you are a Happy owner in owning this piece of Artwork. I should be clear coated & have a Plexiglass case you can drop down on top of that Beauty, just to keep the dust off, and any finger prints from anyone that might want to touch it, Like Me .. My my my, I LoVe It.. Eric

I think that's another project ;D I was envisioning something more along the lines of the POF "Sniper Stock" would look nice, but I don't know if that's made for their receivers only of if they work on anything. You did this by hand!?!?!! You must be the king of patience. Well, at least we know patience pays off.
