The way they are manufactured is different. They still work great, the same as the original Dragon Head.

So more of an improvement in the efficiency of machining and probably an improved ability to meet an exact tolerance? I like it. I may use this new beast on my AR build.

I have one on order through Tactical Ammunition...they said it would be about a week before it gets sent out.....the one I ordered was for a .264 lbc....so I am not sure of the availability of the one for the 5.56

Talking with Josh over at Tact Ammo, he said they are having some issues with the Gen II production, they are waiting on something to be able to complete the brakes, could be a couple of weeks yet before they are ready! Just wanted to let you all know. They do have their .264 bolts ready to ship though ;D

Are these able to be pinned or welded so make my barrel legal?

Are these able to be pinned or welded so make my barrel legal? Looking at the pic I don't see why you couldn't pin them . They are pretty thick but the principle would be the same. I'd do some set screws and then hit the hole with a welder if it were me. It would finish up nicely with a good hide on the holes. Greg

Good to know!
All the parts will be sent to Ritch @ RPG to put together.
I'm sure I could put it together myself, but I'll just let a professional handle it.

Ritch has managed to work with the ratty parts I send him and so far every one has been a shooting machine. I think he even poured an extra can of X's in the 6X68 for me!!! Greg

It's kind of my present to myself after this deployment. It's not really supposed to be a tack-driver since it has a 14.5" barrel. I'm looking for absolute reliability and damn good accuracy.
It will look pretty awesome too, but that's also secondary.
