Basically if you use it in a .223 you can use it in the .264. A few favorites are 8208 XBR, VV135, BL-C2, Norma 201

If you are talking the 6.5G/264lbc, don't use AA2520 if there is any way you will be running the gun in high temps, like summer days when it is 90 out. Trust me, it's temp sensitive. I use IMR4320 for fireforming x39 brass, and Win748 and BL-C2 for most loads.

Is hodgdon H4895 a good choice, or is another extruded powder better? TIA, Joe

Hodgdon revolution powder has been getting good marks with the 264/6.5, I'm trying to find some to try it myself

Huh... anyone have any experience with Varget? in 6.5g/264lbc? Varget is a great powder but not in a 264 LBC. It is to slow burning. Get some 8208 and you will be able to get the most out of your 264. One word of caution. Stay away from the ball powders if you live where there is a wide temperature swing. 52,000 PSI is the max working pressure for the 264. Ball powder will increase in pressure with raising ambient temperature.

Good for my .308 in a 26" barrel with heavier projectiles. I have some ball powder but will look to test with some of the others you've suggested. Thanks again! Oz
