So the varget did now work to well with my 6.5 swede so I have found some data in my hornady book using it in the .264 LBC. I loaded some rounds ranging from 27 gr to 27.5 gr to start off. When seating the bullet to spec via hornady I noticed they were compressing the powder. I have never shot loads that were compressed. Has anyone ever worked with varget in their .264 LBC?

I have not tried Varget but it should work. I use CFE223 which is slower and it shoots so well I use it for my go to load. Shooting a compressed load won't hurt a thing. I try not to crush ball powder, but extrude powder like Varget will not hurt a thing.

What starting and bullet did you use I shoot 31.5 grains of CFE223 and a CCI 450 primer under a 123 grain Nosler Custom Competition. If you try the Varget load, share your results with the us when your through.

Varget wasnt terrible but I am not going to continue with that powder due to it is very hard to find.
CFE223 plue is getting me about 2650fps and 3in groups at 300 yrds.
