So I have a Savage 10 with a very low round count. I would like to rebarrel it in a 6 or 6.5 cartridge and drop it in to a chassis. Concerning accuracy upgrades, I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with PTG bolt heads/bodies and whether it would be a better option to purchase a fresh bolt head/body from PTG, or if it would be worth it to have a good 'smith blueprint the factory action? would I get that much more accuracy out of either of these choices?

By design the floating bolt head eliminates the need to blueprint the Savage action. We shoot PTG bolt heads in many of our rifles. I highly recommend that you go that route. The cost is not much more than having your base bolt opened up.

Have you also tried the PTG bolt bodies? Do these create any significant difference in operation/accuracy, or would it be negligible considering the function of the floating bolt head?

The PTG bolt bodies do nothing for accuracy. The floating lock up is the key to making a Savage shoot. All the bolt body does is make a connection between the bolt and the bolt handle.
