I got my upper assembly yesterday with the BHW 16in, SS, 5.56, middy barrel. 1st let me say I'm impressed with what I'm seeing so far! Got everything all cleaned up & ran a couple of patches with Flitz down the bore & it sure looks nice.
I haven't even got the thing built yet & I'm already thinking about other things to do to it.
I was wondering about using a 22 conversion in the Wylde chamber. Is there any problem there? How bout with the polygonal rifeling?

I've used an Atchison type conversion unit in a number of 5.56/.223 barrels. They tend to be dirty and carbon up the barrel and the units themselves. Accuracy is very so-so which is why I went to a dedicated .22 upper with the proper chamber and barrel twist/diameter.
In normal enfield type rifling you have to be very careful of leading when using the conversion. I'm not at all sure with the BHW rifling. Just remember to use top shelf, plated ammo - not the junk sold in a bulk pack.
Also, make absolutely certain which hammer you have in your lower. Many of the conversion units and dedicated uppers require the use of a non-notched hammers.

I have a cmmg drop in for my guns. Works well not super accurate but does the job. Will second that you need to use plated ammo the lead builds up quick. Also neither of my guns have BHW barrels so don't know about the different rifling. As far as the Wylde chamber don't beleive it should be a problem from what I have read.
Also bought a Chippa 22 upper and put it on a PFC lower. If I can get the upper to shoot think that will be the way to go!

Poly rifling will not be an issue per se. The bore is bigger than a 22 RF bullet so the accuracy will not be top notch. You'll just have to clean the snot out of it when you are done. DON"T shot an round of 556 down it to clean. Al you do is iron that junk down i to the bore. Clean it the right way.

I also have a ccmg upper for my m4. works well and it is always ready to go. The only Magazine that work well with my ccmg are Black Dog .22lr 26rd AR Magazine. A fun way to go
