I guess I can call it what ever I want! It was sold to me as a A.A. barrel, but I don't think it is? It don't matter! Except that it now might not be as big of bargin as I thought!! Since I have never been around a Grendel I was in Big Hopes that you guys would give me a heads up on what I might get out of the 6.5 Grendel? How far are you guys shooting the 6.5 Grendel and still getting good groups, 200yds,400yds,600yds,800yds. Greg I would guess that a decent Grendel set up for paper punching will be good way out there..say 1000 on a good sized target. Not NRA Hi Power good but for bad social interactions it would turn the trick. I'm not sure about BR quality but for hunting world it would make a decent 350-400 yard deer rifle and a bit more if you have the skill with the right bullet. Greg

Hey Greg,
I'm the one that recommended that you try this site to try & find out who made your barrel.. That barrel should do well but you really won't know until you try it out? Mount it up & put a Hi power scope on it & see what it'll do.. If you lived close to me I'd go with you ;D I bet it would be good for 600+ yards, maybe more but you won't know until you give it a shot.. Either way you have a polygon rifle barrel so your already ahead of the game.

I've been trying to look at the fluting but I can't see much detail. A few companies have trademarked fluting they use and that could help determine it's place of origin. For instance our twisted fluting is not the same as other companies to keep from having conflicts with trademark designs which can determine anything from length, depth, twist radius around the barrel and right down to what type of bit we use in the fluter. More random facts I'm sure everyone wanted to know. lol. EDIT-- I'm also curious if there is any kind of stamp present anywhere on the barrel? It looks similar to something I've seen from Lothar Walther
