Have you ever seen an AR15 barreled for the 300 Savage or the 308Win? I know what you are thinking, why, how? I know this is not normal but I just want to know. There is actually a simple solution to feeding from the AR-15 lower.

I gotta see the Houdini that can pull off that one an an AR15. Greg

Reason I ask is if they can manage to get the 250 in a modified and proprietary magazine which fits a lower that too is modified for both itself and AR15 mags I would assume it can be done. Not saying I'd want to but Colts done it. We shall see at Shot I guess if it's coming to fruition.

22.250 is 2.35 in. I want to try it. I am looking for someone to cut me a barrel and run the 300 savage reamer. Thanks.

The WSSM family will match the velocities and not even break stride and are available now. Greg PS:I know why as it is simply because we want to!!

I have a truck load of 308w. x1 fired so I can leave it like that or simply bring it to the parent form 300 savage if I want. free brass is always a good excuse I guess I did a lot of WSSM shooting and while I like it a lot I think that is not the best option in 308 in the AR. It is funny. It is almost that it can be anything else but 308 is not clicking. The 300 OSSM is proprietary and not performing as expected accuracy wise and the 243-308 showed some improvements but it almost seems like too much for the AR-15. The 243-7mm was very accurate but once we decide to stay inside the magazine then the WSSM suffers from case length limitations and this one doesn't benefit from coming out of the traditional mag. So if the feeding issue is overcomed and I am very close then I think a mild 300 savage will do everything I need with a 5-6 shot hunting AR. I think that someone might look what can we do to the round but instead starting with a virgin round and see it different way like how we can make this work with the AR. Just like stoner did 50+ years ago. He crated the rifle for the round and not the other way around. I have been exploring several options for new uppers and there is also new directions and ideas. I am well aware of all limitations. As someone was discussing here about the 6BR is there already a bolt an extension for the AR-15 and standard shank? I think the guys from AR performance down in CO have a nice one. Thank you for staying positive. I know this is kind of a "weird" idea. Anyhow, it might be a good way to get me out of the economic crisis by spending my way out of it buying barrels and special bolts and extensions. LOL!

Update: The 300 Savage it is. I just came from my workshop and I have an almost working prototype. Always one more AR mag that acts ad the sacrificial lamb. I have more than 200 so there is no shortage of that anyway. We will use the hammer to stuff the round in there if needed!!!. ...I am joking.! lol!
Now the question... Is there an extension and bolt that works in the standard receiver/shank? Funds are ready. I am looking at modest staring loads. A 140gr at 2650fps 18" barrel. Below average PSI. Fun project to boot. Very different.
