At home I can only shoot @ 50yrds for right now, I'm extending to the range to 100. Out of six differant powders that I've tried two are giving me one hole groups with five rounds. I'm using Hornady 165gr. SST's for a all in one hunting bullet. This is with BHW's 18" .308 poly barrel on a DPMS upper. One of the two powders is producing 2628 fps standard with a 35fps deviatoin. This is just a personel opion, I don't believe that a faster traveling bullet is always better. The more consistant the round the less excusses I have. I do spend most of my time preping the cases (my brother says that I'm demented). Two of my friends came over yesterday with thier AR,s one was using a Olympic Arms 20" and the other has a DPMS 20" barrels , the Oly shooter was using match grade ammo and the other one was using his reloads. The BHW 18" barell out shot both of them by a 1/16" @ 50yrds. They both claimed that they will whip my butt out past 200yrds. The gaulett has been tossed , I'll be drinking free beer for a month. I am impressed with the BHW 18" barrel and they were both impressed with the Dragon's head . Happy New Year ; Stump The politicians this year remind me of used toilet paper.

That is some good news. The sped on your load is right up there with the Fed. GM velocities we get with 24" bolt guns.
I think that 200 yards will be as big a judge of a shooter to a great degree as well as the equipment. Amazing how many guys I trained that could do well at 100 and fell apart at 200. The atmospheric influence comes into play a great deal and any little twitch is huge at 200. Get those boys out in some "conditions" and get a designated driver because you will need one after they start buying the pitches!!
Keep us posted.
