I didn't buy a matched set of Aero Precision receivers a little while ago and now they are sold out. I really wanted a nice matched set for my rifle build and they seemed to be the best price/quality. Does anyone have any leads on a quality set of forged receivers for a decent price? I don't really want to mix and match.

2 prefect matches are mega and si-defense. I love the way their billets come together. You pay a tad more but IMO you get more.

I'm going with forged receivers on this build since it's going to be fairly lightweight with the 14.5" barrel. ;D
I'll contact Tactical Ammunition and see what they say. I'll be ordering the DragonHead and carbine buffer from them too.

Another very good one I forgot is seekings. They cut them OEM for spikes and others. If you are on a tight budget there are people out there that can hand pick a nice matched billet for you in the $200 range. In the end an AR is an AR. If it is up to spec and unless you are looking for some special feature or a high end competition, the brand really doesn't matter at all. What matters the most are the internals and a nice barrel according to your purpose. All this tacticool stuff will fade away and the good solid relentless shooters will always remain.

I've looked at the Seekings receivers before. I bookmark every site I find. They are wicked nice, but I don't need billet receivers for this build. Too much weight.
I will probably go with the Surplus Arms receivers. Looks like they just came in stock too!

Those areros I got a few from them on a bulk buy for the "beat up the bushes" type of carbines and they are all squared and up to spec so they are good to go. Again branding doesn't mean anything. For example delton has been using the same M16 bolts they put in the colts. They are OEM cuts and the same mills serve several brands. We compared them side by side and they came with the same guts, even the same machine marks. Obviously like everyone when they run out of stock they go to the next OEM. Good luck.
