Hi Folks, I'm getting ready to load some 6x45 in anticipation of getting my barrel sorted out and upper assembled.
I have on hand 70 grain Sierra Match HPBT bullets, TAC powder and 8208 powder. Anybody have any pet loads with these components?
I'll be loading to mag length, 2.260" I'm thinking around 26 grains of 8208. Data for TAC in this caliber seems hard to find.
Thanks!

From Hodgdon site, ( A VERY GOOD SOURCE) 70 GR. HDY SP IMR IMR 8208 XBR .243" 2.260" 24.0 2555 32,000 CUP 27.0C 2916 41,200 CUP I've shot some of the top end stuff with goods results. YMMV Western does not list TAC for the 6X45 but I have used many of their powders in the 6X45 by starting with a MAX 223 load and moving up slowly from there. I have not shot the 70 over TAC in the 6X45 but shot a bunch in the 6X68 and it should perform well for you given some cautious work up. Give them a call DIRECT and their TECHS will give you some advice. They have done it several times for me and they are spot on with their help IMHO. The Hornady bullet data should go 1:1 with the Sierra bullets. Greg

Thanks Greg, I have been looking at the Hodgden site. I noticed the top 70gr bullet 8208 load has pretty low pressure. Probably all the 8208 that fits in the case.. ;D

Thanks Greg, I have been looking at the Hodgden site. I noticed the top 70gr bullet 8208 load has pretty low pressure. Probably all the 8208 that fits in the case.. ;D Look at the CFE 223 also. We are getting SUPER velocity with it a low pressure. The BHW barrels seem to eat it up and spit them out with it. My 75 grain 6X68 load is running faster than the regular Hodgdon 243 Winchester loads. Primers are rounded, case life is unreal, pockets are tight. What is not to like? Greg
