Do you ever have days like this? You would think after all these years I would learn to put all 5 in the same place. Maybe its just an excuse to shoot more. The first group is an .832 including the wide shot. The last 4 measure .177 This was shot using 28 gr. IMR 8208 and Hornady 123 Amax bullets The second target measures .668 with the wide shot. The load was 31 gr. IMR 8208 and a Hornady 95 gr. Vmax.

Sweet shooting on the vmax. Second photo didn't come through for me but a .177 is stellar in my book.

I always found a dram of whisky settled my itchy trigger finger............ Greg PS: If I could shoot like that I wouldn't be at the keyboard.

Just to let every one know. These loads were not shot through a chronograph. It was done for the sole purpose to prove accuracy. These loads are listed in Hodgdon's 2012 manual and are below maximum.
They were shot from a 20" standard profile barrel with a 1 in 9 twist

What depth did you seat the A-max load, and what primers? been having trouble getting good groups with my hand loads using the 123 grain A-max using XBR 8208

Thanks, I tried a load nearly identical to that (205m primer), for some reason, my rifle doesn't like it. well, that's why we reload, to find what works.

That surprises me that your rifle doesn't like that load. I have two .264LBC BHW barrels and they both shoot well under 1/2MOA. My load is 28.3gr 8208xbr with either 123 gr Sierra BTHPM or 123gr A-Max. One barrel is a 24" bull barrel, the other is a 20" LTR for deer hunting.
modified to add. CCI-BR primers. Bullets seated so they just clear the magazine.

With the 123 AMAX,anything over 28.2 starts to show some pressure signs.(Grendel Chamber) Very nice groups with the 95 VMax,just curious what your seating them at. I have to seat so dang deep with them (2.130 OAL) The most I have dropped is 30 gr. of 8208..Before I go any higher just wanted to see how long your able to seat. Just got some nosler 100 gr. Ballistic tip,and excited to see how they do,checked them to the lands and will be able to seat at mag length.Have you tried them yet? Thanks!
