I've never owned a polygonal rifled barrel, save on a Glock. How many rounds can one of these barrels send down range before accuracy seriously degrades?
Thanks!

If it is a 556 a minimum of 7-8,000. Depending on the chambering they will vary. Also what do you mean by accuracy? Mine is under an MOA all the way out for PD's and targets. If I was shooting on IPSC targets with a 8" A-Zone then the thing ought to go a minimum of 15,000.
I know that Carl has shot one heck of a lot through some barrels and they still shot adequately for most uses.

For me accurate in a SHTF is "angle of bad-guy" at 400-500 yards. In a paper puncher 1 MOA or less is what I'm looking for. This rifle, 18 inch HBAR barrel, will be a combo. Mostly paper but Id like it to be able to last for 15-20k in an post-stable America.

Of course an extra barrel laid back and cosmoline with a few tools is not that hard to arrange. Greg

My BHW 16" middy is sub-moa. ;D Minute of Man at 500 yards (yes, 5 football fields) is great by me. I'm a hit the gong guy.
