I have been told and have read that this caliber shines at a minimum barrel length if 20". Why is this when the original 6.8 does not?

I have been told and have read that this caliber shines at a minimum barrel length if 20". Why is this when the original 6.8 does not? Because the 6 MM and the expansion ratio lets us use higher pressure and we are throwing better BC bullets at a higher velocity. Increasing the barrel lenght will increase speed but the % gain is not as noticable as the bigger bore size would show us. The cartidge is just very well balanced for bore/charge weight. The 243 LBC has the same nominal case capaicity of the 6X68 but it has other things going for it for big bullets. The little ones 70 and under scream out of a 6X68 easily. The bigger ones prefer the LBC. Ritch has shot all the varuous lengths and he has found that 20 is the only way to fly for shortness. I prefer at least a 22" but then I also like the truck axle guns I shoot. Greg
