Hello all i have a question for everyone i am currently waiting on a 300 AAC blackout barrel from BHW it will be a 16in with carbine gas sys . I plan to hand load for this rifle and so I’m getting stuff together and found these I wanted to see if anyone has used the Hornady 110gr short jacket looks like a very cost affective bullet to use here is a link www.midwayusa.com/product/222789/hornady-bullets-30-carbine-308-diameter-100-grain-short-jacket-box-of-100#pr-header-222789 the next question i have is the short jacket should keep the barrel from leading up right? This is my first Polygonal Rifled barrel so any input would be great.

They are extremely short and would have to jump a huge amount in the chamber. Far better to use a standard spire shaped jacketed bullet in your rifle. The BC will still suck but you will find that accuracy will improve. Also the BHW barrels I have shot are so smooth that I find virtually no copper fouling in the bore. They are the slickest barrels I've ever used and clean up faster than all the rest even after 150+ rounds down the tube. Greg

They will be the cheap route. GI Brass has them at times. Greg

I would try some Hornady, Speer, Sierra or Nosler light weight bullets. Those from this post are .307 dia. The Blackout already suffers from under pressure.

From wut I understand, the short jackets have a hard time feeding in an AR. The 130gn hornady sp's feed well in my x40 and are very cheap. I've been getting 100 for $17.99. Personally, I prefer the 150's in these short 30s. A word of caution on the h-110, be prepared for feeding issues. I came close to giving up on my x40 cuz I couldn't get it to cycle reliably w/ h-110. I've got it feeding fine w/ it now, but it can be a very frustrating experience. 1680 works very well in these cartridges if you can find it. That's why I kept trying w/ the h-110, it's the only powder suitable for this class of 30's I could find locally. Let's us know how it goes 4 you.
