While not "long range"... this is some of the game I've taken using the AR15 rifle. I can't tell you when the last time I used my bolt gun to hunt... enjoy the pics...
This 8-pt was taken at about 20 yards (you can see the stand in the background) using a .30HRT chambered AR15 rifle. Using a 125gr Nosler BT bullet at about 2450 FPS.
This 8-pt was also taken with the .30HRT at about 75 yards, same load.
This guy has some growing up to do...
This sow fell to the .50 Beowulf at about 75 yards using Rainer 334gr HP's at about 1900 FPS.
I took this doe at about 60 yards using a 6x45 with 100gr hand loads.
I shot a "meat" deer with my 6.8SPC using Hornady 120gr SST's but failed to get a pic. As you can see, I really like the AR15 for hunting.
