Hey guys, I cant seem to find the info I need on the web site so I thought I would ask, are the barrels chrome lined? I have read that chrome lined and melonite (salt nitriting) the barrel helps resist corrosion. I do shot cheap steel ammo. I am looking to purchase a 16 inch carbine lenght 5.56 to go with my spikes upper and lower. Can anyone help me out.? What are the actual lead times for new orders?

BHW does not do any chrome lined barels or meloniting. 8-12 weeks IIRC. Call the Office for a true quote on lead time. The info is on the main web site. Greg

Iamnew to building so I did not know. What are the advantages to a BHW barrel over say a RR or Spikes? What are the barrels coated in to resist corrosion on the inside? I do not really care about alot of selling points just want a good barrel for sport shooting that wont corroid.

They don't typically have corrosion problems

I called both sales and customer service today no answer! I need to know about these two.
16" 5.56 Standard Profile Carbine Length Gas System .750 Gas Block - 1x8 Twist
16" 5.56 LTC Profile Carbine Length Gas System .750 Gas Block - 1x8 Twist
what does LTC profile mean vs standard?
The satin finish option, does that need any coating at all or can it be installed as is? I suppose I am asking is it a raw barrel that needs to be treated? I do not want to worry about rust.
I appreciate any help I want to order but really wanted to speak with a person there to make sure I was getting what i really wanted.

If not send them an E-mail direct. Do not post the questions here as they don't review these topics daily. Sometimes even I have to call a few times. I do not work for BHW BTW. The LTC is cut down under the HG and some more past the gas block. Here is the pic of that and you can get a visual.: www.blackholeweaponry.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=topicarrifles&action=display&thread=682 Look at the first post. No coating needed on the satin. They are ALL stainless and they are not going to corrode on you any faster than any other SS barrel. It is a bead blast process NOT a coating like the stuff you see on some Marine type shotgun set up. There is no treatment on a BHW out of the ordinary. ALL barrels will rust if they are not cared for. Some just faster than others. Greg
