nope, its the FTE rifle, the other one is a Rob Arms XCR which has a proprietary bolt as opposed to an AR bolt. regardless the LWRC bolt face worked as predicted on 6.8 go and no-go gauges and I did put it in the barrel exension and rotated to ensure that if fit and could rotate. I am 99.9999999999999% sure it is not the bolt or carrier.

40 rounds down range and no issue specific to the bolt itself. Is this the same 6.8 that is doing the FTE or is it in your other rifle? Greg literally quoting myself for disambiguation.... 40 rounds and no issue specific to the bolt itself, i didnt say no issues overall now did I? Seriously though, the LWRC six8 bolt is solid, its extractor is extrememly strong... the extractor hung on to those stuck cases like a champ.

If not how can it be ruled out? Greg

because #1 no kaboom, #2 headspace is fine as tested by go and no-go gauges, #3 bolt lugs didnt shear off, #4, has not ripped any rims, #5 goes into and out of battery just fine empty and with unfired rounds, #6 fit the chamber just fine before i installed the barrel... the muscle i have to put into yanking on the charging handle is indicative of an ammo case issue, not of a bolt issue. granted, if i am 99.9999999999999% sure its not the bolt, then there is another 0.0000000000001% chance that it could be the bolt. as you said testing will tell, and if the issue is resolved without a bolt change, will you eat your doubts?

Actually I don't think it could possibly be the bolt I am betting on ammo or chamber. What ever it is we are all going to learn something. When Ritch gets off work perhaps he will chime in. Greg
