I just finished the final load workup and am quite satisfied! Rifle build was as follows: Next post shows how this barrel delivers. Attachments:

Target was at 200 yards, winds were 5-7 mph. Load was 28 grains of 8208 XBR behind 123 gr AMax. Hornady cases with CCI 450 primers. I couldn't be more satisfied with this build, and with this barrel in particular. David Attachments:

Looks like a great load. A varmint weight bullet would be a good one to work with too.

Isn't it great when a plan comes together. I love that bullet, powder combo in my 264 bull barrel. Great build! You are going to have so oooo much fun with that new toy,

A varmint weight bullet would be a good one to work with too. Greg I agree, but with supplies as difficult to come by as they are now, any new load development will have to wait until the gun-fever breaks. In the meantime, it is time to develop this beastie's drop table out to 1K. ;D That load chrony'd at 2615 fps. Preliminary G7 calculations suggest 1100 yards with usable energy is possible at the elevations I will be shooting. (~5800'). David

This build gave me some issues, in the beginning, but that just made it all the sweeter to finally get it right. It did make all the other AR builds I've done seem like child's play, in comparison. I definitely learned a lot on way, and I owe Rich and Greg (not to mention a few others on this board) a debt of thanks for their valuable input. David
