Ive been out to SD once for prairie dog and want to go again, last time I was a guest with others, but they are unreliable on setting up another hunt, so I want to set my own up....anyone want to give me some suggestions?

If you want to pay to hunt then head to the indian reservations. If you don't want to pay to hunt them then it will be a little tougher. We had not been out there for many years and finally went back about 2 years ago on a week long vacation to see the sights of the Blackhills and do the group bonding thing. We only shot for a day and a half. The dogs were tough to find on private ground that was not snapped up for guides. We found a few towns. What I did was did a search for PD in South Dakota and go a map of the density area and then went to goggle maps and started looking and then ordered a plat book for the county that I was interested in and over layed it and started calling. We had OK shooting but nothing like the reservations. But it didn't cost me $75.00/day/shooter either.

I've seen areas around Big Springs , Texas that were full of PD;'s and easy to get on. Also western Oklahoma has a bunch. I would contact the state wildlife guys and they can direct you to the local Wardens who could give you some hints on who to get with.
Go on through OKLA, and TX and come out to AZ and we'll kill a few.

Give Kerry Knold of Outrageous Adventures in Mobridge, SD. He and his wife Dawn are salt of the earth, wonderful people and he will put you on some serious Dog hunting. He DOES NOT shoot the Indian Reservations. Only Indian guides can take you on the Res.
I've hunted with Kerry for a number years, and he wonderful and the lodge and food is superb.

This has always been a dream of mine shooting prairie dogs. I think it would be great family time for me and my cousins and possibly a few friends! Unfortunately everywhere I've looked has been extremely high for a day per Shooter! We were going to go and just "call" on a few parcels of land to see if they would let us shoot maybe next summer!
