Thanks I thought lil gun would be the way to go. Hoot over on 450bushmaster.net says not to go less then 16" so to burn 41gr. + of lil gun but Ballistics by inch shows 44mag velocity flattens out 10-12 inch. I live in Alaska too and would love to have a compact pistol length to. Can't find any 10.5 " or 12.5 " barrel owner velocity numbers to compare to 16". Thanks for advice on carbine gas for 16" . Any problem using pistol gas in 10-12 " barrels with lil gun? Is what I wondered.

Oh yes why the odd 1:14 twist in 12.5" barrels. All other barrels 1:18" which makes sense for 300+ grain bullets. I was thinking about 12.5" as best pistol compromise till I saw fast twist. I plan to plink with cheaper zero bullets or try black and blue plastic encapsulated bullets, worried too fast twist might lead to leading.

We do what others in the industry do and we add twist rates we have worked with. We have that luxury as we are making these not ordrering them. As an example we made nothing but 1:8 224 bores for a long time. We now do 1:9 and 1:7 because of shooter demand. Same as the 1:7 in the 30 calibers. These barrels don't lead/foul much. You will be shocked how smooth they are. That and the poly rilfing that is less of a bullet material stripper makes a huge differnce at the cleaning bench. Greg

You have a link to OFFICIAL statements? We have heard this but not seen it. One of our customers told us that he checked and it would be decided in May. Greg
